Introduction to Therapeutic Massage
Will cover briefly the principles of Shiatsu and energy work, Reflexology, and working on the body with oils. We will discuss the benefits of massage therapy, working with energy and blockages, as well as potential career opportunities in this field.
By the end of this session the student will be able to give a 1hour relaxing massage. This course can be taken alone, or as part of the full certification.

Great way for couples to learn basic massage and relaxation techniques to use on each other and help maintain a healthy relationship.

Shiatsu
This technique originates from Japan and literally means ‘finger pressure’
Level One- Students will learn about yin and yang energies as well as the five elements. We will cover the twelve traditional meridians, their pathways, both energetically and anatomically, as well as their function and specific acupressure points. Stretching, breathing, and self care exercises will be an important part of this course.
Level Two- For those who wish to go deeper into the work, this course will offer deep stretching manipulations and applications used for specific ailments and chronic conditions. Elemental theory and diagnostic techniques will be learned as well as alternative methods of healing.
A large portion of this course will be hands on practise, case studies, pathology, clinics and supervision.

Swedish Massage
Level One- We will cover the basics in anatomy and physiology as it relates to therapeutic massage and its application. Students will work hands on with muscles, body systems and fluids through manual manipulation and various strokes. This type of massage is good for improving circulation, removing toxins from the system, and for general well-being and relaxation.
Level Two- This class offers more advanced strokes, stretching, trigger point release, sports massage and injury work.
A large portion of this course will be hands on practise, case studies, pathology, clinics and supervision.

The energy exchanges between caregiver and patient, along with their energetic relationship to their environment, are the primary causes for stress, fatigue and burnout. An example is that frequently the caregiver takes on his/her patients’ illnesses and stress in an energetic sense.
There is tremendous need for much greater awareness and management of the subtle energies that make up human and environmental force fields and interrelationships.

Colour courses are affiliated with and recognized by the International Association of Colour and affiliated with international Light Association and O.C.P.N.N. (Canadian Order of Practitioners in Naturopathy and Naturotherapies). We are the only school in eastern North America so recognized. We offer a 475 hour Certification Programme in Colour Therapy, and an 885 hour Diploma Programme. Courses may be taken independently or as part of the Certification or Diploma Programmes.
